Cambridge Children’s Books are proud to announce this new beautifully illustrated picture book about punting, and its history in Cambridge. The book is specially designed to encourage children to read with phonics.
Focusing on phase 4 phonics, this children's book, written by primary school teacher Pip Barber, will have your children reading in no time. Pip is experienced in and excited about teaching phonics and early reading. She has taught in infant and primary schools for several years and loves living in Cambridgeshire and has found its cities, towns and villages fascinating places to learn about!
This picture book is full of illustrations of iconic buildings that children will be able to recognise. This has all been brought to life by some colourful and classic illustrations that are full of playful little details. The book was illustrated by Charlie Spurrier, a London based illustrator who works primarily within watercolour and ink. His drawings seek to capture a story in which the element of humour is key. He takes inspiration from such notable illustrators as E.H. Shephard and Charlie Mackesy whose works capture a nostalgic childhood innocence.
